THE INEVITABILITY VERSUS POSSIBILITY OF GOD’S BLESSINGS AND PROPHECIES (PART 1)

BY Moshood Fayemiwo

IF a seer or prophet/prophetess told you that you would be a great and successful person in life that is not a cinch. If it was prophesied into your life that you would be a king or queen one day, you aren’t a shoo-in. Whatever you are going through in life right now is not a guarantee you will come out of it or the matter will be resolved positively. Time doesn’t solve any problem, actions do.

From Genesis to Revelation, all the blessings and promises of the True Lord God Almighty aren’t guaranteed, until the recipients of the blessings do something to appropriate the blessings. The Holy Bible is not a book of destiny, you have read it numerous times in this column; rather, it is the Manual of Life given us to decide. Rarely is the will of the Sovereign Lord God Almighty done in the lives of human beings and in the world. That is why our Lord Jesus Christ told us to pray that the Will of the Lord should be done on earth (Matthew 6:9-10: “So then, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”).

The Lord God Almighty controls all events in the heavens, and thus His Will is supremely done willy-nilly there. The reason the Will of God is inevitable in heaven is because Satan and his renegade cohorts have been flushed out of heavens and thus cannot oppose the Will of our Lord God Almighty over there: Revelation 12:10-12: “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night has been hurled down. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them!”

You look around you and the world; poverty, homelessness, injustice, hardships, inhumanity from man to man etc. all over and you wonder; doesn’t the Lord God Almighty care? If the Lord God is a God of Love, which He is, why can’t He solve all these problems? The answer is simple: The Sovereign Lord God Almighty has given every human being on the surface of the earth two choices: obey and serve Me and My blessings will be upon you or disobey and dishonor Me and My curses will be upon you, period! (Deuteronomy 11:26b-28: “Take note-I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing if (emphasis mine) you take to heart the commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you today, and the curse if (emphasis mine for a qualifier) you pay no attention to his commandments and turn from the way I am setting before you today to pursue other gods you have not known”).

Three people called us here at The Jesus Christ Solution Center asking for prayers on their career paths and roles they wanted to play in the political life of their nation. All three said, they had been prophesied to from births they would play prominent roles in the political life of their nation and we checked them out, and the three were saying the truth. So, we asked the Holy Spirit which one of them has the Lord God Almighty destined to occupy the position the three were aspiring to occupy? “I have destined the three of them to be governors of the same state,” the Holy Spirit replied. I was confused. “Lord, how can the three be governors at the same time, certainly, it should be one person?” we asked. “Whoever among the three that obeys and carries out the commandment I will tell you to tell them will be governor,” the Holy Spirit replied. “Suppose all three obeyed and carried out the commandments and instructions You gave me?”

The three will become governors in quick succession, but Satan will convince one not to obey the instructions and commandments, while one will refuse to wait and imbibe My fruits of patience and long suffering. I do not rule the earth by destiny, I want every human being to cooperate with Me to fulfill My plans for each of them. Only those who obey Me will fulfiil their destinies and those who disobey Me will also fulfill their destinies,” the Holy Spirit informed me. There are only two destinies-if we should use the word as commonly used among humans-that await each one of us: heaven or hell, period!

I have disclosed it here before and I am disclosing it again; the current governor of Kogi state; Alhaji Yahya Bello was not supposed to be the governor of that state. The man who would have been governor was Dr Musa Wokili, former deputy governor of the state under the late Prince Abubakar Audu who governed the state between 1992 and 1993, and again 1999 to 2003. When we told Dr Wokili what the Holy Spirit showed us about the 2015 governorship election in the state, and how it would pan out, we told him to relocate from Kaduna to Lokoja and put his hat into the race. “Something miraculous and extraordinary would happen which you would not believe and the coast would suddenly clear and you would become the governor of the state.” He thought we were joking. He said Prince Abubakar Audu was a grassroot politician and had the political machine no one could rival in the state. To assure him that the most dependable political machine anywhere on earth was that of the Holy Spirit, I told him once again the assurances of the Holy Spirit here in this column on Sunday August 09, 2015

It isn’t in any human being’s destiny to be poor, jobless, unemployed, barren, single, homeless, be miserable, be a failure, etc. The Sovereign Lord God Almighty is a good and perfect God; everything He created is good at creation, for the statement “Behold, the Lord God saw everything He created is good,” resonated throughout His creation. I will never want to spend eternity with a God who is mean, who is loving but makes people He has created to be poor, homeless, unemployed, barren, single, miserable, a failure etc. The Holy Bible says, “The Lord is good all the time and His mercy endures forever” (Psalm 100:5); not some of the time or occasionally, but all the time.

Furthermore, the Bible says; “Taste and see the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8), so, can a good God make His created beings miserable, homeless, poor, jobless, barren, unemployed, a failure, etc.? If the Holy Bible says in yet another instance of the goodness of the Almighty God: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17), then it is an oxymoron for the same Good God to inflict pains and miseries, poverty, joblessness, failure, homelessness, bareness and other disabilities commonplace in the world on His created beings whom He loves.

When the Sovereign Lord God Almighty created Adam and Eve, He gave them all they needed for life. As a loving and caring Father, He didn’t create them to be harassed by Satan and his demons; certainly, He didn’t intend that their children; you and me, would be on earth to be tormented by another set of creation known as Satan and his fallen angels. In fact, death did not come into God’s Mind; neither did He create hell and hell fire for us-Adam’s children. All His blessings and goodness were freely and bountifully available for Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, but there was a “but” to the enjoyment of these heavenly blessings. Adam and Eve must demonstrate that the Good Lord God Almighty Who provided all these blessings and goodness was a Loving God Who should also be loved back for His loving kindness.

The only way Adam and Eve could reciprocate this Love was to obey His Commandments, period! (“Jesus Christ said: “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments”). That same God demanded this obedience from the beginning when He commanded our First Parents thus: “And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:16). Why did the Lord God Almighty give Adam this command? To know that Adam appreciated all His blessings in his life and show his love back to a Loving and Kind God. The most practical way to demonstrate your faith in a person is to show trust and trust is the demonstration of obedience and obedience is the sign of love. Throughout human history, the Lord God Almighty the Creator deals with us through this method.

How did the Lord God Almighty know that Noah feared and loved Him in his generation amid evil and wickedness that pervaded the pre-Deluge World? Noah obeyed the Lord, when He was instructed to construct the Ark. “Noah did everything just as God commanded him” (Genesis 6:22). In Genesis 7:5, the righteousness, obedience, faith, trust and love of Noah for the Lord was again reiterated. Noah and his children went to their neighbors to deliver the same message Noah received from the Lord God Almighty, but what did their neighbors, friends, relatives, acquaintances, country men and women do with the message of salvation? They scorned him: “You’re lying, nothing will happen, everything is OK,” so they said to Noah.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, God-in-the-flesh drew analogy between Noah’s Age and our current worldly system when He said: “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.…” (Luke 17:26-27). Unbelief pains the Lord more than sin.
