Sheriff, who was addressing journalists after a Supreme Court ruling on the Ondo State election, said he was surprised that the media reported he had been replaced.
Sheriff said the court ruling had nothing to do with the lingering leadership tussle with another faction of the party led by Ahmed Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna State.
“I am surprised at some of the reporting you media people are carrying; all the reporting yesterday was not correct because the issue in the lower court is the issue of governorship of Ondo State,” he said.
“The Court of Appeal has not touched on who is the leader or who is the substantive national chairman of the PDP.”
He said the case between the two factions was still at the Court of Appeal.
