The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has disbursed over N13 billion to 33 local automobile companies under its automotive development fund.
This is part of strategies to further enhance the growth of the nation’s automotive industry.
The director- general of NADDC, Alhaji Aminu Jalal, made this known at the closing of a three weeks training workshop on Auto Mechatronics Skills for Modern Motor Vehicle Maintenance in Abuja.
Alhaji Jalal said the fund was disbursed to the local automobile companies through the Bank of Industry (BOI).
He stated that the three weeks training was also part of NADDC’s measures in developing the country auto sector.
The director-general stated that the training had enhanced the capacity of participants in modern vehicle repairs in line with international best practices.
Alhaji Jalal explained that NADDC was working towards establishing industrial parks in Lagos, Kaduna and Anambra states, where vehicle parts and accessories would be produced towards boosting the sector.
In a message, the national president of the National Association of Automobile Technicians, Comrade Ogba Alexander, commended NADDC for the training and called for more programmes that would enhance the growth of the sector.[sgmb id=”1″]
