I add my voice in condemnation of the bastardisation of governance in Imo State by Governor Rochas Okorocha..
The appointment and swearing-in of his sister, Mrs. Ogechi Ololo, as the Hon. Commissioner for Happiness and Couples’ Fulfilment in Imo State, is the most ridiculous appointment in recent times, in the history of governance in the Nigerian state, Imo inclusive.
This is unheard of, sad for the people of Imo state and calls for concern from Nigerians of good consciences.
Okorocha apart from turning Imo State Government into a family business -where his sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and other close relatives are appointed into key government portfolios, he has also earned the world title of “The Statue’s Governor,” for using his taxpayers’ money to erect the statues of every Tom, Dick and Harry that visits Imo state. This is done at the detriment of backlog of unpaid workers’ salaries, pensions, gratuities, promotion arrears and other entitlements of workers in his state.
I can attest that this is not the same humble and God-fearing Owelle Rochas Okorocha I know and who invited me to a meeting in his Rochas Foundation Plaza, 41 Okigwe Road, Owerri, Imo State in 2002.
Already via a comment on a friend’s Facebook timeline with respect to this discourse, I had expressed my disappointment on Rochas Okorocha’s style of leadership; and I wish to reiterate my strong detest to the ongoing debasement of The Government of Imo State by the Okorochas.
I am worried that Okorocha has repeatedly breached his oath of office as Imo State Governor with regards to favoritism, nepotism and being selective in his choice of appointments into Imo State Government.
